Polishing a ring with jewelry cleaning cloth

How to take care of your DEDUET jewelry?

Gold Plated Brass

Gold plated brass means a layer of gold is plated onto the surface of brass. Brass is a very strong material that has great strength and hardness, which helps maintain the shape of the jewelry. At DEDUET, we only use 18k or 14k gold for plating, which is a thick layer of gold over base metal.

To take good care of the gold plated brass jewelry, it's recommended to store them in a DEDUET's pouch provided to you with your purchase to avoid oxidation, and acidic substances (perfumes, cosmetics, and chlorinated pool water). When your jewelry has water on the surface, please dry it with soft cloth or tissue, as moisture will damage the surface and cause tarnish.

Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil jewelry is made to last, it has a thick layer of gold plated over 925 sterling silver. Gold vermeil jewelry is more resistant to tarnish than other gold plated jewelry, however it's recommended to avoid contact with chemicals, perfumes, cosmetics and water to preserve the best quality of your gold vermeil pieces.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is a high quality metal that is very durable and long-lasting. It requires special care to preserve its appearance and longevity.

We recommend you to store sterling silver jewelries in a DEDUET's pouch provided to you with your purchase to avoid oxidation, and acidic substances (perfumes, cosmetics, and chlorinated pool water). When your sterling silver jewelry oxidizes, no worries, sterling silver can be cleaned for oxidation, please wipe it with a clean, soft cloth, and place it in the pouch afterwards.
